I have a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy and I specialise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries. I have practiced sports therapy since graduating in 2008 and have treated individuals from a variety of backgrounds ranging from professional sports people to casual runners.
I set up Excel Sports Clinic in 2010 to bring a quality service to the people of York and the surrounding area. My approach is to use evidence based techniques and strategies in order to help you recover in the most effective way possible. A large part of what we do is helping people improve their strength and mobility and we do our best to educate patients and build their confidence so they can better self manage themselves in the future and as such it means I can treat not only sporting injuries but a variety of other musculoskeletal problems as well.
Alongside my work in the clinic, I have previously lecturered at York St John University where I specialised in Sports Injury Rehab. I also previously taught on the Sports Therapy degree at York College.
From 2008 to 2016 I was employed by York City Football Club as a Sports Therapist. In 2012 I took on the role of Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine where I was responsible for the entire provision of Sports Science and Medicine for all age ranges from U9 to U18 within the Academy at York City FC.
I have always participated in a variety of sports and have a particular passion for trail running, football and squash. I am also a terrible golfer!
